Training Overview:

The Universal Prevention Curriculum (UPC) Training of Trainers (TOT) under Echo Training Model took place from 24th to 28th March 2025 at the Amani Center in Arusha, Tanzania. The training aimed to equip 25 CSO representatives from the Northern Zone with evidence-based prevention strategies to address substance use. Facilitators from the Drug Control and Enforcement Authority (DCEA) and the Colombo Plan Drug Advisory Programme (CP-DAP) led the training, focusing on building the capacity to create long-term impact in communities. It was honored to have an opening remark from Joseph Modest Mkude, the District Commissioner of Arusha District, and the training was concluded with a certificate award ceremony, officiated by Gerald Mwaitebele, the Deputy Secretary from the Ethics Secretariat.

Feedback and Impact:

The training was highly appreciated for its interactive approach and practical application in substance use prevention. Participants gained valuable skills and *23 participants graduated with certificates from CP-DAP*. They are now actively involved in spreading the knowledge gained, contributing to the long-term prevention of substance use in Tanzania. The success of the training has led to plans for specialized training tracks and follow-up sessions, ensuring continued progress in the field.
