Between July 14–18, 2025, The National LEAD Institute, in collaboration with the Royal Bahamas Police Force and the ISSUP Bahamas National Chapter, conducted the second of five modules in the Domestic Violence Certification Series. The module implemented was UTC 5: Intake, Screening, Assessment, Treatment Planning, and Documentation, adapted for Domestic Violence Facilitators and grounded in the Colombo Plan Drug Advisory Programme (DAP).
The training was delivered at the RBPF North Eastern Division Training Facility and hosted 18 participants, including RBPF officers and select community stakeholders from Abaco, Bimini, and Grand Bahama. This training aligns with national efforts to enhance capacity in addressing domestic violence, substance use, suicide, trauma, and mental health issues through evidence-based interventions.
This week’s training was a resounding success, both in content delivery and participant engagement. The data confirms that measurable knowledge gain occurred, and the participant feedback speaks to the high quality of facilitation and relevance of training content.
Congratulations to all those involved!
