تعقد مفوضية الاتحاد الأفريقي مشاورة قارية سنوية لخفض الطلب على المخدرات منذ عام 2015.  وتمثل كل من الدول الأعضاء في مفوضية الاتحاد الأفريقي جهات الاتصال الوطنية المعنية بنزع السلاح والتسريح وإعادة الإدماج التابعة لها، مما يتيح للدول الأعضاء فرصة لعرض الأنشطة الوطنية لنزع السلاح والتسريح وإعادة الإدماج في منصة لاستعراض الأقران تتيح أيضا المشاركة مع الخبراء المتخصصين المدعوين.  وعقدت مشاورة هذا العام في أروشا. تنزانيا في الفترة من 10 إلى 13 ديسمبر 2024 ، وضمت قادة تقليديين من جنوب إفريقيا. وكان موضوع مشاورة هذا العام هو "الوقاية خير من العلاج: نحو تعزيز الصحة والأمن والرفاهية الاجتماعية...

ISSUP KENYA interacted with more than 50 officers representing ministries, counties, departments, and agencies (MCDAs) at the Kenya School of Government in Embu. The Essential Counselling Skills Training, led by the Counselling Department within the Ministry of Public Service, Performance, and Delivery Management, focuses on developing Workplace Mental Health Champions for the public sector.
