Reitox is the European information network on drugs and drug addiction created at the same time as the EMCDDA.

Members of the Reitox network are designated national institutions or agencies responsible for data collection and reporting on drugs and drug addiction. These institutions are called 'national focal points' or 'national drug observatories'.

This report(link is external) highlights the responses taken by the EMCDDA's Reitox network of national focal points to the COVID-19 crisis and describes the challenges met by the organisations and the strategies produced to overcome these challenges.

This fact sheet provides up-to-date information and guidance on the links between alcohol and a range of cancers, including some of the most common types, such as female breast cancer and colorectal cancer, for those involved in designing and implementing policies that affect public health.

It sets out policy options to reduce the alcohol-attributable cancer burden within the WHO European Region, making clear that there is strong evidence that the implementation of cost-effective alcohol control policies including pricing policies (or policies that increase the price of alcohol) will achieve...

In this brochure(link is external), the EMCDDA's Scientific Director takes us on a journey through 25 years of annual reporting on the drugs problem in Europe.

The journey begins with the first report describing the drug situation in 1995 and leads us, over key milestones, to the latest European Drug Report 2020.

Looking back on a quarter of a century of annual reporting, two things stand out: first, Europe's drugs problem has evolved considerably over this period; and second, this evolution has been accompanied by a dramatic increase in the quantity and quality of the information available on the topic.

The British Journal of Psychiatry, 1-3. doi:10.1192/bjp.2020.120

This shift was designed to allow greater flexibility and freedom to respond to local need.

In this paper, researchers from Kings College London assess the relationship between alcohol-related hospital admission, specialist alcohol treatment provision and deprivation since implementation of the changes within the HSCA.

Alcohol-related hospital admissions were...
