Coordinator, Practice Improvement

The incumbent will function as a member of the Policy and Practice Improvement team.

Position Summary:

The National Council’s fast-growing Policy, Practice Improvement and Consulting Department is engaged in an array of government and privately-funded initiatives to enable quality improvement and workforce development in mental health and addiction prevention, treatment and recovery organizations. These initiatives utilize the very best in quality improvement techniques, strong partnerships with experts from around the country, and thoughtful use of traditional and new communications and media. As directed by the Director of Data and Evaluation, the Coordinator will support the needs of the department through technical and administrative support for various projects as well as assisting in the day-to-day operations of the department within the framework of the National Council's policy goals, priorities, and annual organizational work plan.

The Coordinator is responsible for providing research support in the form of quantitative and qualitative data collection; organizing and maintaining received data and source documents; data entry and tracking; data cleaning; performing data entry quality checks; coding qualitative data for analysis; creating and formatting charts, tables, and PowerPoint presentations, and; report writing. Activities also include providing administrative support by managing logistics for meetings and other events, utilizing project management tools to support timely execution of tasks, and engaging in other duties as needed. The Coordinator must be resourceful, proactive, and efficient while maintaining an approachable and professional presence. The position requires strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills required to balance multiple priorities.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors’ Degree in related field
• Previous data entry, data analysis and data visualization experience
• High level proficiency in Microsoft Office—PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access
• Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal skills
• Results-oriented with a high attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and meet deadlines in a demanding, fast-paced environment
• Knowledge in at least one of the following areas is preferred, not required:
  • Mental illness and addiction
  • Healthcare reform
  • Public policy
  • Integrated primary care and behavioral health service delivery
