Muy interesante el articulo, así como clarificador. Desde mi experiencia en el primer nivel de atención considero de suma importancia la capacidad del personal que recibe a la mujer embarazada para la detección del consumo de drogas. El vínculo que se logre establecer va a marcar la posibilidad de trabajar desde una reducción de riesgos y daños hasta llegar a la abstinencia, ya que sabemos que todo consumo de drogas es de riesgo para la embarazada y su bebé.

Consideramos importante brindarle a la mujer embarazada posibles alternativas para su tratamiento, farmacológico, residencial de...

Algunos obstetras dicen que fumar “hasta 5 cigarrillos por día” está bien. Sin embargo, esto no es así ya que NO hay un nivel seguro de consumo de tabaco durante el embarazo. Está comprobado que fumar unos pocos cigarrillos por día expone al feto a más de 7.000 substancias tóxicas y dañinas que pueden afectar su desarrollo y crecimiento. Cuando hay humo de tabaco en el ambiente, el feto recibe menos oxigeno, aumentan los latidos de su corazón y se altera el crecimiento de sus pulmones. También disminuye la circulación de sangre por la placenta, por lo que el feto recibe menos nutrientes.
