An opportunity to provide subject-specific research assistance to the Principal Investigator (PI) and their research team has become available. The post holder will work on the ESCAPE study (Integrating Smoking Cessation Treatment into Routine Psychological Care (IAPT). 

The post holder will predominately be involved in collecting and analysing data for three projects:

  1. A systematic review titled “Impact of variation in functions and delivery on the effectiveness of behavioural and mood management interventions for smoking cessation in people with depression”. Protocol available here
  2. Analysing qualitative data from interviews with IAPT service users and therapists.
  3. Collecting data about intervention implementation for the ESCAPE trial

The Project Coordinator will serve as a liaison officer between GPDPD, its international partners and the MFLF as well as other Thai counterparts.

The Project Coordinator is part of a global team with operations in Berlin, Bonn, Bangkok, Bogotá, Tirana and Yangon. The Project Coordinator will be placed at the premises of GIZ Bangkok but will also be working regularly at the office of MFLF.

There is a vacant position in the Department for Sociology and Geography for a Postdoctoral Fellow.

The position is funded by the Research Council of Norway and is dedicated to the newly established research centre PROMENTA in which the Department of Sociology and Human Geography will participate with the project Drug Policy Reform.

We will investigate questions related to the development of international drug policy, new knowledge regimes, drug user careers, social marginalization and the possible consequences of decriminalization of the use and possession of drugs. We will also monitor new patterns of alcohol and drug use among adolescents, associated sociocultural aspects and identities, and new models of prevention and sanctioning by the police and the court system.

The Society’s key goals are to promote effective policy and practice and to support the development of stronger addiction science.

Through its Academic Fellowship scheme, launched in 2012, the Society is enabling high-calibre early and mid-career addictions researchers to develop further and they are now pleased to launch our new ‘SSA Addictions Professorship’ scheme to further strengthen addictions research in the UK.

The ‘SSA Addictions Professorship’ scheme will create new addictions professorial positions in collaboration with co-funding host universities.

A research team of the Psychological Science Research Institute (IPSY, UCLouvain), is seeking a post-doctoral researcher for a project related to the social neuroscience of addictive disorders. 

This project will explore the brain correlates of dehumanization (the feeling of being treated by others as less than a human) in alcohol-related disorders.
